    1. Two coiled coils of specially coated tungsten filaments are used at both end caps on the tube. The tube is made vacuum and filled with inert gas and the inner wall surface is coated with florescence powder. When tube light is switched on the coils are energized and start emitting electrons from the coils and collide within vacuum tube filled with inert gas. Due to continuous collision of emitting electrons and the complete energy is absorbed in tube wall and the fluorescent powder glows and emit light.

    1. The mercury vapor lamp is a high intensity discharge lamp. It uses an arc through vaporized mercury in a high pressure tube to create very bright light directly from it's own arc. This is different from fluorescents which use the mercury vapor arc to create a weaker light that mainly creates UV light to excite the phosphors. The "Merc" as it is known has been a workhorse for society; lighting streets, factories and large areas for over 100 years.
